WordPress-Plugin
scinet Multilingual
Organise multilingual content with clear workflows.
Connects WordPress content as translations and supports clear editorial workflows, language URLs, hreflang and language switchers.
What the plugin does
scinet Multilingual helps you organise WordPress content in several languages. I built it around clear editorial workflows: translations remain native posts, pages or terms. You create them deliberately; the plugin does not provide automatic machine translation.
Who it is for
For sites, editorial teams and developers who want to manage multilingual content without an external translation service.
Included features
- Linked translations
- Translation overview and status
- Flexible language and URL structures
- Canonical and hreflang output
- Language-specific menus
- Responsive Gutenberg language switcher

Installation and updates
Upload and activate the ZIP under Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin. Follow Multilingual → Overview, choose languages and the URL strategy, and link translations. Add the language-switcher block. Deactivation retains data; uninstall deletes plugin data only when the deletion option was explicitly enabled beforehand.
Direct ZIP releases must currently be updated manually. This website does not operate a plugin update server.
Before updating, back up your website and database. Upload the new ZIP under Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin and choose to replace the installed version. Then check settings and functions. Do not uninstall first if you want to retain your data.
Free direct download; updates currently require manual installation. A future transition to WordPress.org will be verified separately. The listed versions were tested within the documented scope, not with every theme or intermediate version. Actual screenreader testing remains outstanding.
